Baggage Fees and Optional Travel Fees
You may carry a certain amount of checked baggage free of charge. When you exceed your baggage allowance, you will have to pay an extra bag fee (see table below).
The following table contains extra-bag and heavy-bag fees for Finnair flights. Each fee is for flights in one direction.
Fees are in euros, EUR, or the equivalent local currency where the excess fee is collected. When departing from Canada, the fees quoted are collected in CAD. When departing from USA, the fees quoted are collected in USD.

If the reservation was made seven days or more prior to the flight's scheduled departure time, you can cancel it within 24 hours without a refund fee. Please contact our Customer Service.
Taxes and other fees to the authorities are included in the ticket price.
Service fees can be checked from the website for each country.
Change fee depends on your ticket fare type. If you have a changeable ticket the change fee is between $0- $400. In addition to the change fee, the fare difference (if applicable) and a reissue fee are collected when the routing or fare type changes.
You may reserve an Economy Class seat in advance for flights operated and marketed by Finnair (the flight number in the ticket starts with AY and the ticket number starts with 105). Read more about Select Your Seat

Child discount applies to children 2-11 years of age.
*For safety reasons children cannot sit in the exit row.
Paying for the seat is not obligatory and passengers can continue to select a seat free of charge according to the availability in online check-in 36 hours before the flight. Finnair aims to seat families travelling with children together.
Service in Business Class on Finnair flights is always free of charge.
The food service is free of charge in Economy Class on intercontinental flights. Snacks are also sold onboard for a fee of $3-$5. Drinks are free of charge, except hard liquors and sparkling wine, which are sold for a fee of $8. On flights to and from New York and Bangkok, wine and beer with the meal are free of charge, and sold for a fee of $6-$13 after the meal service.
The meal service in Economy Class on Finnair operated European flights lasting more than 2 hours is free of charge. Snacks are also sold onboard for a fee of $3-$5. On the shortest flights coffee, tea or juice are served free of charge. On flights lasting between 1 and 2 hours snacks and alcoholic drinks are also sold. Beer, wine and hard liquor are subject to a fee of $6-$13. Sandwiches are sold on flights lasting between 1 and 1.5 hours for a fee of $9. On flights operated by Flybe the service fees of Flybe apply.
On Finnair operated flights within Finland coffee, tea or juice is served free of charge. On flights to and from northern Finland snacks and soft drinks are also sold for a fee of $3-$5. Alcoholic drinks may be purchased on these flights departing after 09:00 for a fee of $6-$13. Sandwiches are sold on flights lasting between 1 hour and 1.5 hours for a fee of $9. On flights operated by Flybe from Helsinki to Joensuu, Kuopio, Tampere, Turku, Vaasa and vice versa, the service charges of Flybe apply.
SKY BISTRO REPLACES THE COMPLIMENTARY COLD SNACK SERVICE ON EUROPEAN FLIGHTS AS OF NOVEMBER 1, 2014
On short-haul flights in Economy Class, Finnair will introduce Sky Bistro, a wider mix-and-match selection of seasonal, high-quality foods and beverages combining the best tastes of Europe and Asia. There will also be products suitable for special dietary needs.
On all flights in all classes, coffee and tea remain complimentary – as does Finnair’s signature refreshment, blueberry juice.
Hot meal with coffee and tea will still be served on our flights to Canary Islands and Dubai.
