    London Heathrow Airport is located approximately 25 kilometres from the centre of London.

    A faster but slightly more expensive way to reach the airport is to take the Heathrow Express, departing from Paddington every 15 minutes. The trip takes roughly 15 minutes and the Express takes you directly to most of the airport terminals.

    The fastest way to reach Manchester Airport is by train, departing every 10 minutes. The trip from Manchester to Manchester Piccadilly station takes about 15–20 minutes and it’s easily accessible from the airport terminals.

    You can also reach Manchester city centre with regional buses that operate regularly between Manchester city centre, Manchester Airport and the Manchester region. Arriving at Shanghai

Shanghai Pudong International Airport

Shanghai Pudong International Airport is located 30 kilometres southeast of Shanghai.

Shanghai Maglev Train links the airport with Longyang Road Metro Station, where you can transfer to Lines 2 or 7. The ride from Longyang Road Metro station to Pudong International Airport typically takes less than eight minutes. Trains operate every 15 minutes, so you can expect to arrive in less than 25 minutes including waiting time.

Finnair lounge at Shanghai Airport

You will find Finnair’s lounge, the Dragon Air and Cathay Pacific lounge opposite gate D69. To get there, go to terminal 2, and after the security control on the 4th floor, you will find a lift that will take you to the lounge.

The lounge is available to Finnair Plus Platinum members, Finnair Plus Gold members, Finnair Plus Silver members, Finnair Club members and Business Class passengers. Read more about Finnair lounges.

Transferring within terminals at Shanghai Airport

All Finnair flights arrive at and depart from Terminal 2, area B.

If you are transferring between oneworld airlines and already have your boarding pass, you can proceed directly to your departure gate.

If you are connecting from an international flight to a domestic flight, you are required to collect your luggage and clear passport control before proceeding to the domestic check-in area.

Good to know before your flight

The most important thing to remember before your flight is to ensure that your passport and visas are valid throughout your whole journey; many countries require that your passport is valid for three to six months after your trip has ended.

Check in for your flight in Shanghai

  • We recommend using online or mobile check-in before arriving at the airport. You can check in for your flight up to 36 hours before your flight's departure time.
  • If you haven’t reserved a seat in advance, you can choose your seat from those that are available, free of charge, when checking in for your flight.
  • Airport check-in and Bag Drop desks open three hours before departure.
  • Passengers with oversized baggage, for example musical instruments or pets, need to check in at least one hour 20 minutes before departure.
  • Check-in closes one hour before departure.
  • Priority Lane to security control is available for Business Class passengers.
  • Allow yourself enough time to leave your baggage at Bag Drop and to go through airport security checks, as you may have to queue, particularly at peak times. See minimum check-in times
