Excess-baggage fees

The following table contains excess-baggage and special-baggage fees for Finnair flights. Each fee is for flights in one direction only.

Fees are in euros, EUR (or the equivalent local currency where the excess fee is collected). When departing from Canada, the fees quoted are collected in CAD. When departing from USA, the fees quoted are collected in USD.

These fares apply to flights operated by Finnair – if your ticket includes flights from other airlines, IATA standards define which airline’s baggage regulations apply to those flights.

You can check your baggage allowance from your ticket. If you are travelling with baggage that exceeds your baggage allowance, you will have to pay excess-baggage fees as defined by the airline that is carrying out the check-in.

* The lowest price applies when you pay for your excess-baggage fee in advance online, and the second lowest when you pay for your excess-baggage fee via a travel agency or the Finnair phone service. The normal fare applies when you pay for your excess-baggage fee at the service desk at the airport.

Payment of excess-baggage fees

You can pay excess-baggage fees for one piece of excess baggage and small pieces of special baggage at the airport when you depart or in advance on our website or via a travel agency. If your pay the fee online, it will be up to 30% lower than if you pay it at the airport.
If you’re travelling on a Finnair marketed and operated flight, you can pay excess-baggage fees on our website via the My booking link.
If you’re travelling on a Finnair leisure flight (AY1000 series), you can pay excess-baggage fees on our website via the Leisure flights supplementary services link.
Excess-baggage fees for medium-sized or large items of special baggage and pets can only be paid at the airport.
If you’re travelling in a group, you can pay excess-baggage fees in advance by contacting Finnair or your travel agency.
If you are travelling on a flight operated by Finnair but your ticket has been issued by another airline, you can pay for your excess baggage at the Finnair service desk at the airport
