The following tips will help you to minimise the effects of jet lag:

  • In the days preceding your flight, go to sleep and wake up later than usual if you’re travelling westward, or go to sleep and wake up earlier than usual if you’re travelling eastward.
  • Start following local time at your destination as soon as you arrive. If you arrive at your destination in the morning, local time, it’s okay to take a short nap.
  • For safety reasons, we recommend that you do not take sleep-inducing medication during your flight. Furthermore, taking such medication has not been proven to alleviate jet lag – in fact, it may even increase the amount of time it takes for you to adapt to your new time zone.
