Stockholm

Its location by the sea, coupled with the ample sightseeing opportunities make Stockholm one of the most appealing Scandinavian cities. Enjoy the picturesque mediaeval narrow lanes of the Old Town and stop for some freshly baked sweet rolls in one of the many cafes. The best spot for admiring the beautiful sea views is the top of the Mosebacke hill. The easiest way to get there is by the Katarina lift, which has been in operation for 70 years.
The green island of Djurgården has lots to offer for the entire family: the beautifully restored Vasa ship, the open-air museum, the zoo of Skansen and the Junibacken museum exhibiting the world of Astrid Lindgren’s children’s literature. Those interested in modern art will enjoy the exhibitions of Moderna Museet in the island of Skeppsholmen. The exquisite boutiques and lounge bars of Östermalm are a must for those who love luxury. Those with more bohemian tastes will enjoy visiting the theatres, ethnic restaurants, small shops and flea markets of Södermalm.
