Fear of flying
Fear of flying is quite common. It is estimated that 7% of people will not voluntarily travel by air and 20% of all air travellers experience some symptoms related to a fear of flying, such as heart palpitations, anxiety, insomnia preceding air travel, upset stomach and sweaty hands.
If you are anxious about flying and have questions about what will happen during your flight, please ask our cabin crew – they will be glad to give you further information and can also explain the reasons behind the various sounds and motions of the aircraft.
The Passenger’s Safety Information Course provides further information about the safety of flying, and it has helped many people to manage their fear of flying. The course is aimed at all passengers wishing control their fear of flying.
